Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club ( URA FC) moved to third position on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log after they defeated Busoga United 3-1 in a game played at Bugembe Stadium on Friday.

Steven Mukwala netted a first half brace while Ivan Sserubiri added the other to ensure the Tax Collector leapfrogged Express in third position.

URA FC now sit on 28 points garnered in 15 games.

Mukwala got his first in the 28th minute when he rose high to head in a brilliant Arafat Galiwango’s cross.

Mukwala got his second on 41 minutes with another superb header after an Ibrahim Dada cross from the left. Hudu Mulikyi was involved in the creation of that goal as he made a blistering run upfront after stealing the ball from Busoga United’s forward Anwar Ntege.

Despite playing well, Busoga failed to put the ball into the back of the net in the opening half. Ntege and Shaka Ssozi wasted the two realistic chances Busoga got in the opening exchanges.

2-0, the Tax Collectors went into the break with a well deserved lead.

With his trailing at halftime, Busoga United head coach Abbey Kikomeko introduced on Peter Onzima for Ssozi immediately after the break, hoping for the change to change fortunes for his side.

And it didn’t take long for Busoga to pull a goal back after Galiwango fouled Kintu Hassan in the forbidden area, leaving Referee William Oloya with no option than to hand the Mighty Team a penalty.

Ntege stepped up and calmly sent URA FC goalkeeper Nathan Alionzi the wrong way to get onto the scoresheet in the 49th minute.

Following that strike, Busoga United upped their tempo, imposing relentless pressures on the team trying to tie the scores but still lacked that final touch to turn the few chances into a goal.

It was the Tax Collectors who got the next couple of chances. Vianne Ssekajugo rattled the crossbar while substitute Ivan Sserubiri had his curry freekick parried away for a corner by Delton Oyo.

But Delton couldn’t save Sserubiri’s next free-kick from finding the back of the net after the midfield maestro put it in the top corner to restore his side two goals lead.

Ntege tried to pull another goal back for Busoga but he saw his effort go wide after being setup by Edrine Opaala.

Alionzi also denied Isaac Waigona late on in the game to ensure the game ended 3-1
