URA FC got their first win of the season after humbling Busoga United 4-0 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played on Tuesday in Jinja.
Kabon Living netted a brace while George Ssenkaaba and Derrick Nsibambi added one each as the Tax Collectors garnered their first victory of the 2022/23 season.
URA had a brilliant opening half as they netted three of those four goals in the opening 45.
Kabon opened the scoring for the Tax Collectors in 35th minute with a brilliant freekick into top corner past goalkeeper Andrew Ssekandi.
Less than two minutes afterwards, it was 2-nil for the URA after Busoga United failed to clear a teasing Ibrahim Dada Juma’s cross for Nsibambi to react and put the ball into the back of net and double the Tax Collectors’ advantage.
Immediately afterwards, Ssenkaaba made it three for URA as he was in place to pounce in a Ibrahim Dada’s attempt that had rattled the post and came back into play.
But just before the break, Busoga were granted a chance to pull atleast a goal back from the spot, but Franco Balabala disappointingly sent the ball to the skys.
The game went into the break with the visitors in a comfortable 3-0 lead, and 15 minutes into the second, Kabon brilliantly completed his brace with a sweet strike from outside the box after nice play by Ssenkaaba to set him up.
In the later exchanges of the game, Busoga United tried to pull atleast a goal back, but were denied by Nafian Alionzi on several occasions.
At the end of the 90, it ended 4-0 and URA secured it’s first victory of the season after having garnered two points in their opening three games.
For Busoga, they have now lost three of their opening four games this season.
