Startimes UPL: UPDF eye first win this season as Gaddafi welcomes Onduparaka FC to Jinja

It will be day two of Match Day three in the 2022/23 Startimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday.

The two games to be played are;

UPDF FC VS Busoga United FC.

Gaddafi Modern FC VS Onduparaka FC

UPDF FC VS BUSOGA UNITED.

UPDF will host Busoga in search of their first win of the season at the Bombo Military Grounds on Wednesday.

The Army men who have not won a game in this campaign drawing their first at home 1-1 with Express FC and losing their second 3-1 away to BUL FC.

They will hope that their home support can be as loud as possible in order to collect their first win of the campaign.

They will also rely on their positive home record against Busoga United having beaten the visitors thrice on four occasions.

On the other side, Paul Kiwanuka’s charges of Busoga United, will hope to keep their momentum after 2-0 win at home against new League entrants Blacks Power.

Busoga’s goals were scored by former Express midfielder Ibrahim Kayiwa and Franco Balabala through a penalty.

Busoga United Head Coach Paul Kiwanuka came out to say that his team will be cautious not to concede;

We are going to play away, we shall be cautious not to conceed goals but to make sure that we try our best to see that we get maximum points.

My expectation is to atleast get a positive result, not to lose away from home because we need a point to start the season well because each point you lose is vital and crucial, so we want to see that we maintain the points that we have see that we get the extra two points.

What would a win do?

Since we are in the midst of the Match day, it’s hard to start talking about positions on the Log but a win for UDPF FC will take them to four points while a win for Busoga will take to 6 points.

UPDF will continue to be without their Gaffer Brian Ssenyondo who is out with the U17 National Team in Ethiopia just like Saduru Mugamba who is out with an injury.

GADDAFI MODERN FC VS ONDUPARAKA

In the other game of the day, Onduparaka FC will travel to the Gadaffi Arena, Jinja to play Gadaffi Modern Football Club as both teams search for their first wins this season.

Onduparaka FC hold no point to their name despite drawing their first two games, reason being that they started this campaign on -2 points because of disciplinary issues.

The Caterpillars who got their fan base shifted to Bombo Military Grounds on the previous Match Day against SC Villa will hope that this time round the players will lift themselves up for a dominant performance.

On the other side, Wasswa Bbosa’s men will have to bring their A-game, not only physically but also mentally.

Gaddafi FC who didn’t play on Match day two will hope to recover from the loss against SC Villa in their first game of the season

Bbossa will hope to re-organize his charges in the right way inorder to win his first game in the 2022/23 Startimes Uganda Premier league as The soilders boys head coach.

What would a win do?

A win for Gaddafi would see them grab their first three points of the campaign just like Onduparaka who have no point to their name.
