StarTimes UPL: UPDF condemn defenders Express to successive defeats

UPDF FC have condemned StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Express to their second successive defeat of the season.

The Red Eagles have now lost their opening two game of the season after they were shocked by Arua Hills in their opener.

Musa Mudde scored the all important goal for UPDF who played much of the game with 10 men after Ivan Ahimbisibwe was sent off in the 28th minute.

Express was the better side of the early exchanges but goalkeeper Brian Bwete made a couple of saves to deny the Red Eagles on numerous occasions.

The decisive moment of the game happened after the break after Mahad Kakooza Yaya handled the ball in his defensive box to gift Mudde a chance to put his side in the lead. The midfielder stepped out and calmly slotted the ball past Mutakubwa.

Express pushed for the equaliser but Bwete made two superb saves to deny George Ssenkaaba and Raymond Walugembe.

1-0 it ended and UPDF picked up all the three points to move to four points in their opening two games.

Express who play BUL FC next are now second bottom and haven’t scored in two games now.
