StarTimes UPL: Kasirye, Mugume on target as KCCA defeat Gaddafi in Lugogo

Forward Davis Kasirye and midfielder Ashraf Mugume were on target as Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA) defeated Gaddafi 2-0 at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday.

Mugume opened the scoring for the Kasasiro Boys before Kasirye doubled the lead before halftime.

Mugume netted arguably an early goal of the season contender when he curled home a beauty to put KCCA ahead in the 18th minute before Kasirye rose high to head in a well driven innocent Wafula cross.

Just after the break, Gaddafi pulled a goal back through Brian Kalumba strike. Kalumba received the ball from Alex Kitata and put into past Benjamin Ochan to reduce on the deficit.

Joel Madondo had a chanced to level matters for Gaddafi but his effort went agnozingly off the mark.

KCCA held on in the later exchanges of the game to secure their second win of the season in as many games.

They defeated Wakiso Giants 3-0 in their opener in Wakkisha.

They move to second place on the log, level on points with Vipers SC but the Venoms have a superior goal difference.

For debutants, Gaddafi, they have now lost both third opening two games after falling to Busoga United also 2-0 in Jinja.

KCCA plays Busoga United next while Gaddafi will entertain Tooro United away.
