Two wounded sides in UPDF FC and Maroons will seek for redemption as they look to get back to winning ways after they lost their previous games.
This game will be hosted by UPDF at the Bombo military grounds in Bombo on Tuesday. The army side has struggled this season since their last win this season.
Their victory came against a depleted Busoga United since then, they have held onto a record of five loses and two draws, a string of results put them 14th(second last) on the Log.
There is hope that the return of their two young stars in Abasi Kyeyune and Rogers Mugisha will lift up the spirits around including the club’s top scorer Ivan Ahimbisibwe in order to scrap a result for the rest of Brian Ssenyondo’s charges.
On the side of Maroons, they started the season In fine mood winning and drawing twice, beating KCCA FC 1-0 in there but have of late suffered back to back defeats against Vipers and Black’s Power.
Amongst all the teams in the league they, KCCA and Bright Stars have the youngest teams in the divisions something that makes one think they lack top flight experience in their squad.
Their greatest of problems has been defending with most of their clean clean sheets most notably that against Bright Stars and KCCA being solely won by their goal keeper Simon Tamale.
With a better form compared to UPDF, Luzira side will hope the the situation gets back into their hand as they hope to return to winning ways.
NB :The two sides have had only two meetings in history, season 2017/18 and both ended in stalemate [1-1 and 0-0]
UPDF lost their previous game 4-1 to defending Champions Vipers while Maroons looks 3-1 at home again Blacks Power.
What would a win do?
A win for UPDF will take them up to 10th on the Log with eight points while for Maroons, they will climb up to sixth with 11 points in place of Express.
UPDF welcome back Douglas Oyirwoth who has been out on a three-yellow card suspension
For Maroons, they continue to be without forward Umar Kyetabala who was involved in an accident and dislocated his lower ankle but welcome back Noel Nasasira who was down with Malaria while Belmos Opio is still injured.
