Tooro United has stunned Vipers SC at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal on Friday after they defeated the UPL leaders 1-0.

Substitute Mark Nsubuga scored the winning goal for Tooro ten minutes from time after he pounced in a Mohammad Ssenonga’s low cross at the near post.

Vipers struggled to impose themselves on the game and Milton Karisa had Vipers best chance of the game in the 13th minute but failed to beat the goalkeeper Simon Mawuya after getting past Musa Doca.

Ceasar Manzoki also failed to find the back of the net on several attempts while Yunus Sentamu missed a glorious chance to level matters in the 90th minute as he guided his attempt to the side net.

Beside Nsubuga’s goal, Tooro United had a few decent chance to break the deadlock early on but Isaac Mpagi and Ssenoga had their attempts saved by Fabien Mutombora.

Throughout the game, Tooro United went toe to toe with the venoms as they restricted most of the venom’s attacks hence securing their third victory of the season.

The result means Vipers stay top of the SUPL with 43 points, three ahead of KCCA who play SC Villa on Saturday.

Tooro move to 12 points but stay bottom of the log with 10 games left to end the season.
