Startimes UPL: No room for error as Vipers welcome BUL

Vipers SC will be targeting a return to winning when they host Bul FC at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Saturday evening.

The Venoms come off a bareen draw with Express  in their last game away from home in Wankulukuku, one that saw them drop points and fail to go top after current leaders KCCA also dropped points.

Back at home, they host a side that also drew their last game with KCCA. Vipers went unbeaten in the league against BUL, (winning one leg and drawing the other)

Ahead of the tie, Vipers head coach Robertinho Oliveira who saw his side hammered 3-1 by BUL, says will try to play much more football;

About tomorrow’s game, yes, maturity, experience [is] very important, but again it’s not the only decisive thing,” said the Brazilian.

“We have to be ready to play a top, top, top, top game because they will go for us,” he added.

“They will high press, they will try to play much more football than we allowed them do the last time we met in the Uganda Cup final. So, it will be really interesting, definitely. How I said, maturity is important but not the only thing.”

On the other hand, the Visitors as well will be targeting a return to winning ways with confidence that they match the form trend of the Venoms in the last five games. (3W, 2D,1L)

With a few injury scares, Bul will feel that it is the right time they put up a good show and prove a point against the Vemons.

Karim Ndungwa and Ibrahim Nsimbe will be tasked to carry on the team going forward if they are hurt the Kitende based side.

Manager Alex Isabirye, in the BUL pre-match was OPTIMISTIC, coming out to say that ;

“It is not going to be easy but we expect to win as we are going to give all we can to get all the three points,” he said.

“They are a strong team who we believe want to retain their title but we also want to be counted among the strong ones, thus we have to play teams like them and even get points off them.” he added

“The target is to remain in the top positions although Vipers match is going to be really tough.“ he concluded.

Vipers and BUL sit 2nd and 3rd on the table with the same number of points, 24.

Last game.

Vipers drew their last game away at Wankulukuku with Express 0-0 just like BUL who drew at home with log leaders, KCCA.

What would a win do?

A win for Vipers will take them to 27 points but remain second just like for BUL since both sides are tied on 24 points.
