Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club have dropped more points in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
This is after they held on to draw 1-all with Onduparaka FC in a replayed game played at Bombo Military Stadium on Thursday.
Denis Iguma broke the deadlock early on for the Kasasiro Boys, but his goal was cancelled out by a Filbert Obechan own goal just before the break.
It was an entertaining opening half as both sides dominated bits of the game, despite not having enough goal scoring chances.
KCCA scored with their first on target after defender Denis Iguma made a brilliant run to guide in a well driven Gift Ali cornerkick.
In a blink of an eye, KCCA got another chance to double their lead but Patrick Kaddu headed just wide with the goalkeeper Michael Kagiri already beaten by Rogers Mato’s cross.
Despite playing well, Onduparaka had their first realistic chance at goal after half-hour when Emmanuel Oketch’s volley agonizingly went off the mark after KCCA failed to clear their lines.
But the Caterpillars did unexpectedly equaliser before the break as KCCA defender Filbert Obenchan headed into his net after a poor communication with Benjamin Ochan, the Kasasiro Boys goalie.
With score 1-all at halftime, KCCA head coach Morley Byekwaso made a double change, bringing on Usama Arafat and Sadat Anaku for Mato and Davis Kasirye respectively with hope that the pair would spark his side back into the lead.
But it was the Arua based side that got the first chance of the second, but lethal forward Mohammad Shaban failed to connect well.
Onduparaka got another chance from a counter but experienced Ochan made a brilliant save to deny Baden Mujadin before Obechan cleared Ronald Mubiru’s rebounded effort off the line.
With his side struggling to impose their side onto the game, Morley made another change as he handed Erisa Ssekisambu his debut, coming on for a tired Ali just after the hour mark.
Late on, KCCA almost stole all the three points but Anaku rattled the crossbar after coming one on one with Kagiri following a Kaddu link-up.
With the Stalemate, KCCA drop two points and now sit second on the log with 32 points, one below the new leaders, Vipers SC who defeated SC Villa yesterday.
