StarTimes UPL: KCCA battle back to extend unbeaten start

Kampala Capital City Authority ( KCCA) FC have extended their unbeaten start to the 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

This is after they rallied from a goal down to defeat Police FC 3-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Friday.

Davis Kasirye, Charles Lwanga and Mato Rogers were on target for KCCA as they claimed their 8th win of the season.

Juma Balinya converted from the spot to put Police ahead inside the opening four minutes after Tony Mawejje was fouled by Samson Kigozi.

But Kasirye equalised in the 18th minute, heading in a well driven Kigozi cross.

Nine minutes later, KCCA deservingly took the lead as Lwanga notched in from close range, rebounding a lose ball after Tom Ikara, the Police Custodian failed to handle well with Brian Majwega’s shot.

With just a few minutes to the end of the game, Mato netted to ensure KCCA won the game, he guided the ball into the back of the net after being set up by Andrew Kawooya.

With the win, KCCA remain top of the standings with 26 points in 10 games and will play SC Villa next.

While Police FC who are rock-bottom with three points will host Bright Stars.
