Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA FC) will be aiming to close gap on leaders Vipers SC when they host SC Villa at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday evening.

The Kasasiro Boys are three points below Vipers SC who lost their game against Tooro United on Friday at the Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.

Both teams have shared the Uganda Premier League title 29 times, with SC Villa taking the lion’s share of 16 but gone are the days when such a fixture held water!

Now, 22 points separate 2nd placed KCCA from struggling 13th placed SC Villa, a gap which may go to a whopping 25 by the close of the day.

The tie comes at a challenging time for Villa who are contemplating sacking Head coach Petros Koukouras and are winless in last five games after surrendering a  lead in a 1-all draw with Tooro United FC and loosing to Busoga United in their latest fixtures.

KCCA FC have lost one game this season but their only worry is that they miss a couple of players through injury just like SC Villa.

Head coach Morley Byekwaso missed the training sessions on Thursday and Friday because he was unwell and will return to the job when he recovers fully but his assistant coach Kaddu Badru took charge of the trainings and media duties hence coming out to address the KCCA FC TV to say that ;

“Every game to us is a final. We are taking it a game ar a time. We have prepared the players quite well and whoever gets the opportunity to make the match day squad tomorrow knows the task at hand.”

Both sides shared spoils in the first round of the 2021/22 season. The game ended one-all at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru courtesy of a last minute Benson Muhindo penalty that canceled out KCCA ‘s early lead.

Key Stats

The last 22 games between the two sides have seen KCCA win 10 times, SC win three time and nine games have ended in stalemates.

This fixture has produced 48 goals with KCCA scoring 30 goals while SC Villa has found the back of the net 18 times.

SC Villa has not picked a point in the last 5 home games against KCCA FC.
