Startimes UPL: Kankonde opens account as KCCA conquer Kampala derby

Substitutes seal it for KCCA FC as they thumped Express 3-0 on Friday evening to regain lead at the top of the table at the MTN Omondi stadium .

Tshingu Kankonde was the player highlighted out on the day as he got off the mark, scoring his first since he joined the club.

But before he netted, Moses Waiswa had opened up the scoring from the spot after Allan Okello was brought down in the penalty area by defender Derrick Ngoobi.

The game started off with KCCA FC pressing the Express FC back line to play, an action that forced the Red Eagles into mistakes through which Rogders Mato picked up a lose ball to set Allan Okello free only to foul him for the spot kick.

Dennis Otim just Mato waere on fire for their respective teams as Otim made a great volley safe after a good ball from Mato, the game’s opening half ending 2-0.

In the second half, Express came back the brighter side creating many chances but failing to convert any not Until their opponents add another to their tally.

In the 84th minute, Charles Lwanga (another Substitute) put the icing on the cake as he scored the Kasasiro boys third on the day after he  shot the ball with power to beat goalkeeper Dennis Otim to end it 3-0.

The result meant that KCCA FC return back to the top of the log with 25 points two ahead of the Venoms

For Express they continue their losing streak making it four losses in the last four games.

Both teams will return to action on Tuesday 13th December with KCCA visiting BUL FC at the FUFA technical Center, Njeru and Express hosting Vipers  at the Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku

In the other game of the day, Busoga United came from behind to surprise Wakiso Giants, edging the Purple sharks 3-2.
