Arua Hill’s Steven Kabuye netted a later equaliser to help his side draw 1-all with UPDF FC in Bombo on Wednesday afternoon.

Kabuye tapped in from close range in the 87th minutes to level matters for the Kongolo and consequently stretch UPDF’s winless run to 11 games.

UPDF last won a game on December 5th in their 2-1 victory over Soltilo Bright Stars.

UPDF took the lead just before the break through Ibrahim Wammanah who bulleted his effort past goalkeeper Eric Kibowa and into the back of the net.

But before the goal, the Army side had missed a penalty in the 33rd minute when Ivan Ahimbisibwe blazed the ball above the crossbar after James Begisa was brought down in the area.

UPDF had a couple of chances to double their lead but Ahimbisibwe and Yiga missed the target.

Arua Hill also had their chances but were continuously denied by Yusuf Wasswa.

But with three minutes to the death of the game, Wasswa couldn’t deny Kabuye, who had earlier replaced Ibrahim Magandanzi from tapping in a Bright Vuni’s header that came from a long freekick by Rashid Toha.

The hard-fought points earned by Arua Hill takes them to 32 points in 5th place while UPDF remain 9th on 23 points.
