StarTimes UPL: Battle of two despairing sides as SC Villa, Bright Stars face off

It will be a battle of two despairing sides when SC Villa and Soltilo Bright Stars face off at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Friday.

Bright stars, who defeated SC Villa in the first leg look to be a semblance of cohesion on field of play as evidenced in their 0-0 draw against Express FC.

They were the better side of the day but lacked that last touch to turn their chances in goals in order to secure the victory.

This will be Paul Kiwanuka’s third game in charge after he made a return to the club, he has drawn twice and lost once.

Kiwanuka will be hoping for better fortunes as a win against the Jogoos will push them out of relegation and into the thirteenth position if other results go their way.

The hosts SC Villa are 11th on the log, just three points adrift of safety.

They are on a 4-game winless run and have won just four times this season with their last win being a 4-0 victory against Tooro United in Buhinga.

They have many things to worry about but their biggest undoing on the pitch has been scoring goals!. To make it precise, SC Villa have not scored a goal in their last four games something that may relay on lack of creativity.

But SC Villa may be boasted by the coming in of Ibrahim Sadam Juma in their creative department to help the young players in this side like Goffin Oyirwoth, Travis Mutyaba, Oscar Mawa and all the others.

A good result against Bright Stars can bring their season back on track and start the new year with renewed hope.

Team News

Bright Stars will still be without Warren Bule, who is out injured but the rest of the squad will be available for selection.

The Joogos will still be without long term absentees in Ronald Ssekiganda, Allan Nyanzi, Isma Mugulusi and Charles Bbale, who are still sidelined due to injuries.

Travis Mutyaba will also be away for Personal reasons.
