StarTimes UPL: Arua Hill rout KCCA in Arua

Debutant Isaac Ogwang, Rashid Toha and Rashid Kawawa scored the all important goals for Arua Hill as they defeated KCCA FC 3-1 in their opening game of the season.

Ogwang goal came in the opening half when Toha and Kawawa sealed the victory for the Kongolo in the second half.

Arua Hill started off the game the brightest and scored from their realistic attempt at goal in the 13th minute when Ogwang rose highest to head in a brilliantly driven Toha freekick.

After conceding that goal, KCCA looked a better side as they started dominating proceedings and creating a couple of chances.

Simon Kankonde Tshisungu had his attempt saved by Richard Anyama while Ashraf Mugume sent his effort inches wide midway the opening half.

Just immediately after restart, Arua Hill doubled their lead through Toha, who capitalized on poor KCCA defending to head in from close range for Kongolo’s second.

Less than 10 minutes later, Arua Hill went 3-0 up after Kawawa’s brilliant finish following another mistake by KCCA defense.

Just before the final whistle, KCCA pulled a goal back through Bright Vuni’s own goal that resulted from KCCA’s pressures.

Arua Hill now begin their new season with a deserved home victory while KCCA has suffered their first loss of the season after they won their opener 3-2 against Wakiso Giants.

KCCA will play Vipers SC next on Saturday while Arua Hill will battle Maroons in their next fixture.
