Moses Aliro scored the only goal for Wakiso Giants as they defeated UPDF at the Bombo Barracks Military Playground in a Uganda Premier League game played on Tuesday.
Aliro goal came in the 24th minute to hand his side their second consecutive victory.
UPDF had the game’s first realistic chance at goal but Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s effort was parried away for a corner
Few moments afterwards, Wakiso Giants took the lead through Aliro, who was first to react on Frank Ssebufu’s header and tap home from close range.
After trailing at halftime, the hosts tried their level best to level matters in the closing half, but all their efforts were well defended by Wakiso Giants.
Fred Achumu had his shot cleared off the line by Tom Matsiko before Badru Jibulilu Nsimbe saw his brilliant attempt blocked.
Adriko Rogers also put his freekick wide after Ahimbisibwe were fouled just outside the box.
At the end, the game ended 1-0 in favor of the visitors, Wakiso Giants.
With a maximum three points, Wakiso move to third spot on the log with seven points while UPDF stay 9th with only six points in five games.
UPDF will play Arua Hill next while Wakiso Giants will entertain URA FC.
