Express Football Club has finally been crowned as the champions of the 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier league.
The Red Eagles whose coronation was postponed from Thursday last week were finally presented with their trophy and medals on Tuesday morning at a ceremony held at the StarTimes headquarters located at Soliz House in Nakasero, Kampala graced by the FUFA President, Hon. Eng. Moses Magogo.

Express FC finished the season top of the standings with 57 points, one ahead of URA FC and two ahead of the preceding season’s winners Vipers SC with four games to play.
This is the seventh time Express FC are being crowned champions of the Uganda Premier League having finished top of the 2020/21 season standings by the time the competition was ended with four/three games to the end.
The other times Express FC have won the Uganda Premier League were in 1974, 1975, 1993, 1995, 1996 and 2012/13.
The Red Eagles had endured a nine-year wait to win the championship, which also marked the second time the Uganda Premier League title is decided before climaxing due to the recent coronavirus pandemic.
Vipers won their fourth under the same circumstances last season with five games left to play.
