Proline FC registered their first StarTimes FUFA Big league in their first game back into Uganda’s second tier league after a 4-0 victory over Kigezi HomeBoys at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Thursday.
Rogers Mato put the yellow boys ahead in the 10th minute with a crisp finish as Anthony Bongole’s side dominated proceedings from the start of the game.
Moment laters, Hakim Kiwanuka thought he had doubled Proline’s lead but his goal was cancelled out for offside.
Just before the half-time break, Proline were denied the second of the game by a late goal-line clearance by Kigezi captain Pascal Irasa after Juma Ramathan header beat the goalie Ismael Zziwa to move goal-wise.
With two minutes into the second half, Proline finally doubled their scoreline after Kiwanuka guided his strike into the bottom left corner of the goal after a Noordin Bunjo’s cornerkick wasn’t well delt with by the Kigezi defenders.
But before the goal, Zziwa made a brilliant save to deny Mato who dribbled past two players to shot.
Substitute Diego Hamis Kizza, who came on for Rogers Mato in the 54th minute got his name onto the scoresheet ten afterward after his header found the back of the net following a nice cross by Kiwanuka.
Nicholas Sebwato got Proline’s fourth of the game from the spot kick in the 78th minute after Kiwanuka was fouled in the forbidden area by Irasa.
