The clash between Rugarama Football Club and Sports Club Vipers in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 took place at Rugarama Senior Secondary School in the Ntungamo District, situated approximately 75 kilometers off the Mbarara-Kabale highway.

Despite the challenging conditions caused by persistent rain, the visitors secured advancement to the Round of 16 through penalty kicks after an entertaining full 90 minutes of play.

The match was characterized by adverse weather conditions, with persistent rainfall leading to flooding on the outfield.

This prompted a brief interruption towards the end of the first half, but after careful assessment, the fourth official decided to allow play to continue.

At the end of normal time, the score stood at one goal apiece, leading to the implementation of penalty kicks as per the Uganda Cup rules.

Ultimately, Vipers emerged victorious with a 5-4 scoreline.

Walusimbi Abubakali opened the scoring for the visitors in the fifth minute, only for the hosts to swiftly respond four minutes later through a free-kick, awarded when the Vipers goalkeeper handled the ball outside the 15-yard box due to faded lines.

Kayondo successfully converted the free-kick, leading to a level score at halftime.

Throughout the game, the players navigated the physical challenges posed by the weather, with numerous aerial balls played to prevent the ball from getting stuck in the waterlogged patches.

Vipers earned their place in the Round of 32 by eliminating Lugazi Stars FC, while Rugarama FC progressed by defeating Kigezi HomeBoyz.

As the tournament advances, Vipers now await their next opponent, to be determined by a draw.
