Vipers started brightly but that’s was no break through until in the 24th when Richard Basagwa drove through the Busoga United backline to set up Yunus Ssentamu to tap home past Rogers Omedwa from close range.

Leading at halftime, Vipers head coach Fred Kajoba introduced on Paul Mucurezi and Joseph Dhata for Abraham Ndugwa and Najib Iga respectively while Busoga United bought on Ivan Wani for Anthony Mayanja at the start of the second half.

After Wani coming in, the home side, Busoga United started dominating proceedings, imposing alot relentless pressure on the Vipers’ backline seeking to level matters

And they did level matters in the 65th minutes when two substitutes, Wani and Isaac Waigana combined for an equaliser. Waigana rose high to nod onto a brilliant Wani cornerkick.

Lawrence Tezikya, who came on Ssentamu restored Vipers advantage in the 86th   minute after a wonderful pass by Dhata.

Tezikya netted his maiden goal for Vipers against his former paymaster, Busoga United whom he officially left at the beginning of the year.
