Wingers Vitalis Tabu and Joseph Ssemujju scored two first-half goals on Friday evening as BUL FC defeated Proline FC 2-0 in the first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal tie played at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Tabu got the opener in the 6th minute from a sublime free-kick while Ssemujju got the second for the Jinja based side in the 37th minute with a neat finish from outside the box.

Just before the break, it would have been three for BUL but Deogracious Ojok’s free-kick effort rattled the crossbar.

Ojok once again hit the crossbar just after the break following Ssemujju’s shot that hit the crossbar to the rescue of Proline.

Despite Anthony Bogole making a couple of changes later on in the game, there was little reaction from his side to pull a goal back and 2-0 it ended in favour of the visitors.

The return leg will be played next week on Monday at the Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe, Jinja and the aggregate winner will progress to the semi-finals.
