Stanbic Uganda Cup: Lukwago’s blunder costs KCCA a semi-final spot

Goalkeeper Charles made a blunder as KCCA were eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda Cup by Express following a 1-all stalemate at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo

In the 81st minute, after easily collecting Godfrey Lwesibawa’s cross, Lukwago came off his line and slapped Charles Musiige in an off the ball incident.

Musiige went down immediately leaving with the referee with no choice than to hand Express a spotkick.

Martin Kizza stepped up and converted from the spot, sending a hard shot into the back of the net past Lukwago who had dived the right way.

Kizza’s penalty cancelled out Sadat Anaku’s first half strike that had put the Kasasiro Boys in the lead.

After a 1-all aggregate scoreline, Express advance to the semi-finals on away goals rule since they drew goalless at Betway Muteesa II Stadium, Wakulukuku last week.

Express continue their hunt for their  11th Stanbic Uganda Cup and now  join Police, Vipers and BUL in the semi-finals.

This year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup finale will be played at the Masindi Municipal Stadium, hosted by Kitara region.
