The Federation of Uganda Football Association ( FUFA) has announced that the Masindi Municipal Stadium will host the 47th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The development was confirmed via a statement released by the FUFA that included what transpired at the 24th FUFA Executive meeting that was help in April at the FUFA house in Mengo.
This year’s tournament started at the Round of 32 with only Uganda Premier league and FUFA Big league clubs getting the node to participate due to the effect of COVID-19 that left very little room for time to accommodate the 64 teams and the resulting fixtures.
Last year, the tournament was halted before end and later declared null and void due to Covid19 pandemic.
The winner of the competition represents Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup, the second most prestigious tournament in African club football.
Proline are the defending champions having won the 2018/19 championship when they beat Bright Stars FC in shootouts in a final held at Masaka Recreation ground.
KCCA and Express are joint record winners with 10 titles while SC Villa have nine to their name.
Stanbic Bank Uganda is the headline sponsor of the tournament with paint company Kansai Plascon the other partners.
