Stanbic Uganda cup: Bul FC host SC Villa in Njeru

Defending champions, Bul FC face 9 times champions, SC Villa today at the FUFA Technical center in Njeru, Jinja at 2pm.

This round of 32 match looks like a repeat of last season’s Stanbic Uganda cup quarter final where Bul FC knocked out SC Villa 2-1.

The Eastern Giants come to this game with a record of playing the last two consecutive finals against Vipers losing one and winning one

“We are trying to do our level best to win the game although it will not be easy, we played SC Villa last season but this time we are meeting a new team that is much improved ” Said Alex Isabirye, Bul FC head coach in a pre match press conference yesterday

Goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa and midfielder Jerome kiirya will miss this game according to head coach Alex Isabirye.

SC Villa, who last won the Stanbic Uganda cup in 2015 against KCCA FC looks strong under Coach Jackson Magera though some of their star players like Travis Mutyaba who unfortunately is out of the squad as he is in Uganda Hippos team in Egypt.

Bul FC eliminated Sparks FC 1-0 in mukono while SC Villa eliminated Kireka United 6-0 at the Kings Park in the round if 64

Bul FC is still unbeaten at their home ground , Njeru Technical center where the match will be played from with their last home game being a 1-1 draw against Blacks power in the star times Uganda premier league.

In the recent encounter, Bul FC beat 1-0 against SC Villa through Richard Wandyaka’s late goal at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru in October last year in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

Bul FC is currently placed in the 2nd position of the star times Uganda premier league while SC Villa in the 5th position
