BUL FC became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup despite losing 1-0 to Proline FC at the Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe, Jinja on Monday evening.
The Jinja based side progress 2-1 on aggregate over two legs after they won the first leg 2-0 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Just before the halftime, Ivan Ocholit netted for Proline but it wasn’t good enough to ensure their progression to the next round.
This is the second time BUL have progressed to the semi-finals of the Uganda Cup in their history after making it to the last four in 2015 edition but lost the eventual Winners SC Villa.
For Proline, they have failed to defend the Cup they won in 2019 after beating Bright Stars in the finals on penalties.
Quarterfinal action will resume on Wednesday evening with SC Villa hosting Vipers SC at the Bombo Military Stadium.
The first leg ended 1-all at the St.Mary’s Stadium, Kitende with Lawrence Tezikya netting for the Venoms while Ronald Ssekiganda got the all important goal for the Jogoos.
