KCCA FC head coach Brian Ssenyondo has called for focus and consistency as the Cityzens prepare to host UPPC FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Match Day 15 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Speaking ahead of the fixture, Ssenyondo acknowledged the unique challenge posed by a UPPC side filled with familiar faces and guided by coaches who know KCCA’s philosophy well. However, he was clear that sentiment will not distract his team from their objectives.
“We are facing a good side that knows our philosophy inside out,” Ssenyondo said. “However, our focus is on maintaining the momentum from the UPDF win. The standard at this club is excellence, and we expect nothing less than three points to keep our pressure at the top.”
The coach was encouraged by his side’s response in their previous match, where KCCA thrashed UPDF FC 4–0 to bounce back from dropped points against Police and Maroons. He believes that performance must now become the benchmark going forward as the title race intensifies.
Ssenyondo also welcomed the return of assistant captain Fillbert Obenchan from suspension, describing it as a timely boost to the squad’s stability. With most of the team available and the club’s ambitions clear, the KCCA coach insists his players understand what is required on home soil.
“At KCCA, excellence is not optional,” he added, underlining the club’s relentless pursuit of success as they prepare for a demanding test against an in-form UPPC FC side.
