The eagerly awaited clash between Soroti City Cricket Club and Tornado Cricket Club in the championship division group A is poised to unfold at Jinja SS Cricket Oval on March 3rd.

Soroti City enters the game with an unbeaten streak in four matches this season and aims to maintain their winning momentum in the upcoming encounter, with their primary goal this year being promotion to the top flight.

Their recent victory over Avengers Cricket Club by 7 runs at Lugogo Cricket Oval propelled them to the top of the table with 7 points from 4 games, having secured three wins and a draw.

They remain at the summit as no other team has amassed more points than the city’s representatives.

Ochen Peter of Soroti City continues to lead the batting statistics table with 115 runs from two innings, setting his sights on adding to his tally in the upcoming match against Tornado to maintain his position at the top.

On the Tornado Cricket Club front, they are determined to bounce back to winning form following their recent defeat against Buddo Cricket Club by 3 wickets.

Currently occupying the 3rd position with 2 points from two games (one win and one loss), Tornado aims to reignite their campaign.

Notably, Tornado boasts two new additions this season in left-handed batsman Steven Wabwose and Watuwa Calvin, both of whom previously played for Challengers Cricket Club and currently train with the Men’s senior national team, the Cricket Cranes.

Their inclusion adds strength to the squad and sets the stage for an exhilarating showdown.

In their previous encounter on October 28th last year, Tornado Cricket Club emerged victorious over Soroti City Cricket Club by a margin of 59 runs.

However, the current form of Soroti City is formidable, bolstered by recent additions to the squad such as Ochen Peter and Derrick Bakunzi. This sets the stage for an electrifying showdown in their upcoming match.
