Last year’s finalists, Soroti City and Olila Cricket Clubs, are set to remain unbeaten as the Women’s T20 League approaches Matchday 4 tomorrow.

Soroti City currently tops Group A, while Olila leads Group B, both boasting perfect records and strong momentum.

Soroti City has stormed through the opening rounds, winning all four of their matches to sit comfortably at the top of Group A with 8 points.

The defending champions have been dominant, beginning their campaign with a 30-run win over Pioneer CC, followed by a crushing 10-wicket victory in the reverse fixture.

On June 14, they defeated Wanderers CC twice in one day — first chasing 93 runs in just 11.5 overs for a 9-wicket win, then defending 117/6 to bowl out Wanderers for 62, securing a 55-run victory.

Their unbeaten streak is set to strengthen further as key players Proscovia Alako, Janet Mbabazi, Sarah Tino, and Kevin Amuge return from national duty at the Kwibuka Women’s Tournament in Kigali and are expected to make their season debuts.

Tomorrow, Soroti City will face Tornado Cricket Club at the Lakeside Oval, aiming to extend their winning run.

Olila Cricket Club has been equally impressive, securing six wins from six matches to lead Group B with 12 points.

Their consistency has been unmatched, with a squad firing on all cylinders.

The team’s form was evident in their opening matches on May 31, where they defeated JACC twice—first by 73 runs and then by 8 wickets.

On June 7, Olila crushed Africa CC twice by identical margins of 88 runs, showcasing strength in both batting and bowling.

On June 14, they defended low totals of 83 and 75 against Jinja SS, winning by 38 and 13 runs, respectively.

Their disciplined bowling attack and steady batting lineup have been key to their unbeaten status.

The return of captain Phiona Kulume and bowler Sarah Akiteng from national duty adds further firepower to their lineup.

Olila will take on Mukono Development at the GM Sugar Oval tomorrow, continuing their pursuit of the title.

Other matches scheduled for tomorrow include Wanderers facing Pioneer, and Africa Cricket Club playing JACC at the Jinja SS Oval.

With both groups tightly contested, tomorrow’s fixtures will be crucial for teams aiming to challenge the unbeaten leaders.
