Youngster Ivan Wani and experienced Boban Zirintusa scored 2 second-half goals to hand Busoga United their first win in 6 SUPL games.
In the 6th minute, Express FC skipper Daniel Galiwango came close to getting the game’s opener for the Red Eagles but his effort could only rattle the top corner.
Returning Shotstopper Mathias Muwanga was the busiest man on the day as he denied Busoga United on numerous occasions to keep Express FC in the game until halftime. Shafiq Kakeeto, David Bagole, and Paul Ssekulima all tested the Express FC goalie in the first half.
Despite Busoga United’s dominance in the first half, both teams went into the halftime break with nothing on the scoreline.
3 minutes into the Second half, youngster Ivan Wani headed the hosts into a deserved lead after a well-calculated corner kick by Boban Zirintusa.

On the 62nd minute mark, David Bagoole nearly doubled the lead but goalie Muwanga brilliantly saved the midfielder’s free-kick.
12 minutes from the death of the game, the hosts were awarded a penalty after Express defender Ibrahim Zziwa brought down Paul Ssekulima inside the forbidden area.
Boban Zirintusa took over the responsibility, as usual, to convert the resulting penalty to double the hosts’ lead.
Boban Zirintusa has now scored 5 goals from the penalty spot (league-high) since joining the club in September 2019
The win takes Busoga United to 21 points, sitting 7th on the standings while Express FC remain 11th on 18 points.
