Debutant Paul Mucureezi guided Vipers Sports Club to their first win of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League against Kyetume.
The venoms started on a high note in the first half and their only goal came in the 9th minute of the game when an unmarked Mucureezi received a cross-ball from Fahad Bayo to find the back of the net.
In the second half, Kyetume came back well organized and denied Vipers SC any chance to execute their game plan.
Fahad Bayo had a chance to double vipers lead but was denied by the crossbar and the ball was decently cleared from the goal line by Kyetume’s custodian.
speaking after the match Vipers SC head coach Edward Golola affirmed Mucureezi as the most talented player at the club
He is one of the most talented players I have right now and he deserved to be the man of the match.
Golola also extended gratitude to his players for the 3points though but still exclaimed that they did not play well. Nevertheless, he promised better football to come against Proline FC in their next game on Tuesday next week.
Jackson Mayanja blamed the Football licensing body for the delayed process which forced them to feature without most of their first-team players including their captain Vincent Kayizi.
The result means Vipers extended their lead to 39pts and regained their 4 point lead in 16 games played while Kyetume remains 12th on the log with 16 points.
