Wakiso Giants Football Club has announced the capture of right-back Geriga Atendele from Onduparaka FC on a 3-year contract.

The former Buddu Ssaza defender re-unites with his former coach at Onduparaka FC, Charles Livingstone Mbabazi and will now don the purple shirt for the next three years.

In a statement released on the Club’s website, CEO, Sula Kamoga believes they have captured a brilliant player who offers more options to the technical team.

Atendele is an extremely talented young right back with all the qualities to quickly become a great player for this club.

He has all the attributes of a modern day full-back, and having worked with the coach before, it will be even easy for him to get going early at the Club.

Atendele had this to say during his unveiling.

It’s a very good opportunity for me as a player to join this ambitious club. I am so thankful for everything Onduparaka has done for me. But the chance of coming to this club is something I just couldn’t turn down.

I am excited about working with Mbabazi again and i hope to continue learning everything I can from such a great coach.

Atendele becomes Wakiso Giants’ first capture during this window and will now have to contend with, Muwadda Katerega, Swaib Mudde, and Isaac Ntege for a spot in the starting lineup.

This becomes the first and serious business by the Wakiso based club in this short transfer window.

The Purple Sharks will be opening their second-round game with Police FC at the Kabaka Kyabagu on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
