Review: UCU Canons close in on finals, JKL sweeps past KIU Rangers

UCU Canons outclassed Betway Power 65-58 in game 3 reverberate contest on Tuesday evening at Lugogo indoor arena.
Cannons who were trailing 28-30 at halftime, recorded a monstrous 3rd quarter to lead 47-40 before fighting it off the closing quarter.

4 UCU players scored double points figures, led by David Kongor Deng who notched in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Peter Sifuma and Jerry Kayanga also had 12 points apiece while Fadhil added 10 points to ensure UCU win.

UCU recorded more turnover than the power side despite edging the game.

On the other hand, Power’s Paul Odongo had a game-high 17 points, Kiviri Syrus and Soro Geoffrey had 13 and 12 points respectively for the losing side.

UCU now holds 2-1 series lead going into the game 3 series game on Thursday evening

In the men’s semifinals, action will resume today with game 3 matchups between City Oilers and warriors with the score tied one all.

In the lady’s semifinals, JKL Lady Dolphins swept aside KIU Rangers by 30 points (70-40) to complete a 3-0 sweep in the best of 5 series.

The 2018 champions are back in the finals for their second straight time and will wait for the winner between UCU Lady Canons and KCCA Leopards.

Hope Akello recorded yet another double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds while Stella Oyella’s form in playoffs continued as he notched in 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Losers KIU Rangers had a woeful day in office as none of their players made double point figures with Ines Kanyamunza only managing 7 points and2 rebounds on the night.

KCCA Leopards will take on UCU Lady Canons for lady’s final spot against already qualified JKL Lady Dolphins.
