Former MYDA FC midfielder Rashid Mpata has been unveiled at Jinja-based Uganda Premier League side Busoga United.

Mpata has put pen to paper on a one-year employment contract that will see him remain at the Jinja club until the end of next season.

Mpata joins Busoga United after running down his contract at the Malaba-based side.

Last season, he was involved in four goals for the relegated side, scoring one and assisting for the other three.

In the same vein, Busoga United have confirmed the re-capture of former defender Joseph Mukisa from Kenyan side Western Stima.

The Abbey Kikomeko coached side survived relegation last season, having finished the season 13th on the log with 26 points in 26 games.

They finished last season with just three points above relegated Kyetume FC.
