Uganda Women’s cricket team came back from a tight spot to lure the hosts of Namibia with commanding performance against Namibia to secure their place in the finals.
This was the Pearls game six of the Quadrangular series and with the win, it meant that the Pearls had a balanced result sheet putting up two losses and lost three wins in the series.
Therefore the Pearls finished in second position on the table with six points and will now face the hosts once again who topped the log in Namibia once.
Into the game, Namibia won the toss and choose to bat first, but it was Uganda’s bowlers who dominated the early proceedings.
Irene Alumo and Consy Aweko were the women of the moment as they picked up two wickets each only for Namibia to struggle.
The Pearls Captain Aweko was able to produce 11 runs in 10 balls towards the end helped Uganda reach the target with 8 balls to spare.
For Namibia in the second sessions Wilka Mwatile and Van Zyl Irene picked up three wickets in total but it wasn’t good enough to secure a win.
Uganda bagged two points to add on their four to make six and push away UAE.
The final match of the series will be played on Tuesday afternoon as the Victoria Pearls will face the Capricorn Eaglets again at 15:30 EAT.
