Premier sprint: FMU launches Calendar Opening event

The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) has launched this year’s first calendar event, the Premier Sprint dubbed ‘Kawunyemu’ during a press conference held at Festino City, Mukono on Tuesday 21st January 2020.

The Premier-sprint will take place this weekend on Sunday, 26th January 2020 at Festino cite Mukono.

Crews will cover a distance of 2.1km with each run.

The Premier sprint is one of the ten events on the FMU events calendar for this year.

At the launch, the Deputy General Secretary, FMU, Ernest Zziwa confirmed that the Premier Sprint will be used as a scoring point for the National Sprint Championship, two-wheel drive, CRC and Buggie Championship.

FMU has introduced boat racing, kids PlayStation and bouncing castles for the fans to enjoy during the event.

Mukyakaze Jamil the event manager promised tight security at the event and advised fans to follow security protocols under the theme ‘security starts with me’.
