Playing in an empty stadium is not good – Harambe stars head coach Engin Firat

Turkish tactician Engin Firat spat fire towards his pay masters of Kenya after Harambee Stars and Zimbabwe Warriors barren draw at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Friday. 

Kenya hosted their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers opening fixture in Uganda in a match where they dominated possession and created a number of scoring opportunities.

“Sometimes I wonder whether Kenya is a Football nation” a unhappy Firat stated

“We lack infrastructure and this affects the development of the game, playing in an empty stadium in the neighborhood is not good.” He commented. 

Adding to that he also added that Harambe stars played without nine (9) of their starting players but was proud of the performance of his players.

Into the game, Kenya had a couple of players who put out an impressive performance like Odhiambo Otieno and Eric Johana Omondi just like Khama Billiat and John Gerald Tungamirai on the other-side of Zimbabwe.

Kenya at the moment lay on top group J with a point and will return to action on Tuesday as they visit Namibia at Orlando Stadium in South Africa. 

For the Zimbabwe Warriors, they stay in Uganda to host Cameron on Tuesday at Mandela National Stadium Namboole.
