Dominic Otuchet has pledged to raise the bar for athletics in Uganda after securing a fifth term as president of the Uganda Athletics Federation.

Speaking after his unopposed re-election at the elective assembly held on March 28 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, Otuchet expressed gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to the sport’s continued growth.

“I am grateful to God that I am elected for the fifth term. We have achieved big in terms of results, but we also have the mandate to model the future leadership,” he said.

Otuchet emphasized that while the federation has already made significant progress, the focus now shifts to surpassing those achievements in the next four years.

“We have set the bar very high, and we want to make it better in these next four years. We have already laid the groundwork and will work hard to ensure this is achieved because we are a big federation and a model in this country,” he added.

He will lead the federation for another four-year term alongside a newly elected executive.
