Yesterday on July 13th, the first matchday for Olila Cricket Club at Lugogo Cricket Oval saw Olila shine brightly against Pioneer Cricket Club in Group B action.

Pioneer, having won both their games on the opening matchday against Tornado Cricket Club, failed to maintain their winning momentum.

In the first game, Lorna Anyait of Olila Cricket Club narrowly missed scoring a half-century by just one run.

Despite this, her stellar performance helped Olila secure a convincing 64-run victory over Pioneer and Lorna was named the player of match.

Olila batted first, scoring 94/2 in the reduced 10 overs, while Pioneer faltered in the chase, managing only 30/9 in 10 overs.

In the second game, Pioneer batted first and scored 72/6 in the allotted 20 overs.

Olila made a smooth chase in 11.4 overs, with Rachel Achan scoring 25 off 29 and her captain, Kulume Phiona, adding 23 off 23.

Achan, who earlier bowled 2 overs without conceding any runs and took two wickets, was named the player of the match.

In Group A action, Soroti City Cricket Club lost their first match of the campaign to Tornado Bees Cricket Club at Entebbe Cricket Oval.

In the first match, Soroti City bowled out Tornado Bees for only 48 in 13.4 overs, with Apolot Patricia picking up 4 wickets and earning the player of the match accolade.

Soroti City then made an easy chase, winning by 9 wickets.
However, in the afternoon match, which was interrupted by rain, Soroti City struggled.

Batting first, they were 5/2 in the third over when rain stopped play.

Upon resumption, they only managed to score 32 runs in 11.3 out of the 14 reduced overs, raising concerns about their batting performance.

Despite efforts to defend their meager score, with Amongin Noame picking up two wickets, Tornado Bees achieved a narrow 2-wicket victory in the final over.

At Jinja SS Cricket Oval, ACC lost the morning game to JACC by 7 runs.

However, in the afternoon game, Sarah Walaza scored a half-century (50 off 30), leading ACC to an 8-wicket victory and their first win.

At the end of matchday 3, Soroti City Cricket Club and Jinja SS Cricket Club are in semifinal qualification positions in Group A, while Olila Cricket Club and Pioneer Cricket Club hold the top spots in Group B.
