The new season of the Nile Special Stout Rugby Premier League serves another high stake clash as Toyota Buffaloes await defending champions, Heathens RFC at Kyadondo Rugby club, Kampala on Saturday, March 13th, 2021.
The Buffaloes defeated Rams 15-3 on the opening weekend at Kyadondo rugby playground while on the same day at the same ground, defending champions Heathen took care of the Pirates in a tightly contested game that ended 24-19 with Aaron Ofoyworth garnering two tries in the process.
In another tight contest of the weekend, it will be the battle of top and bottom as Betway Kobs locks horns with 9 barrels Warriors at the Legends rugby grounds, Kampala.
The Kobs sit top of the standings after game day one, having run riot on Rhinos at Kings Park playgrounds in Bweyogerere with Pius Ogena running out with four tries on the day to propel his side to a 54-00 win.
The Warriors, meanwhile didn’t take to the field for their matchday one fixture with Jinja Hippos as their game which was scheduled to be one of the early kick-off of the week was postponed by the Uganda Rugby Union, a day to the encounter.
In Jinja, Jinja Hippos will open their 2021/22 campaign against Impis at the Dam Waters grounds. Impis sit sixth on the log, having lost their opening game to Mongers in Makerere.
The Stanbic Black Pirates will take on Mongers at King Parks, Bweyogerere with the two sides separated by one position, while in Makerere, it will be the Rams hosting Rhinos at the Makerere Playgrounds.
