The Uganda Netball national team the She Cranes have been invited to take part in a three-match series with the SPAR Proteas of South Africa from 20th – 27th January 2020 in Cape Town.

This was been confirmed by the Netball South Africa president Cecilia Molokwane as she was addressing the media yesterday.

“The series against Uganda who is ranked seventh in the world is part of our preparations for the Netball World Cup. It is important for our players to play as many competitive matches as possible so that they get some game time under their belts and at the same time give coaches adequate time to try out various combinations,” said Cecilia Molokwane, Netball South Africa President.

The three-match series will act as a preparation tournament for both the She Cranes and the SPAR Proteas ahead of the Netball World Cup.

Cecilia Molokwane also confirmed that the under 21 teams from Uganda (She Pearls), Malawi, and South Africa (Baby SPAR Proteas) will also take part in the series.

South Africa recently hosted Malawi in the three-match series which they dominated with a 3-0 win.
