Nedbank Cup: Onyango’s Sundowns eliminates Waiswa’s SuperSport

Mamelodi Sundowns sailed through to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup after a 1-0 slim victory over SuperSport United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Sibusiso Vilikazi’s clinical finish off Thapelo Morena’s cross in the 27th minute was enough to send the Brazilians into the Last 16.

Moses Waiswa came in the 66th minute replacing Sipho Mbule but his impact on the pitch could not affect the game as Keitano Tembo’s side was sent home packing after the 90 minutes.

Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to extend their success in the Nedbank Cup after winning it two times and they will know their next opponent on Monday 10th, 2020 after the draws.

Waiswa Moses’s SuperSport United will now shift their focus on the league game away to Stellenbosch at Cape Town Stadium on Friday 14th, 2020.
