On a Wednesday evening, Seven time National Basketball League Champions, City Oilers have reached the 2021/22 National Basketball play off final after proving their point against UCU Canons at YMCA, Wandegeya.

Mandela’s charges of the City Oilers have thumped UCU 71-57 in the semifinals to take the aggregate to (3-1)in game four of the best five- series

The University men, didn’t turn up as many expected, after washing away City Oil 60-50 in their game three display that helped them to push the tie to game 4.

UCU Canons who have quite a number of offensive players didn’t execute their balls well enough on the day most especially on the second quarter where they put up only six points.

With their best players in point guard Fayeed Baale, Jerry Kayanga and Titus Luwal having a mixed evening with a slow start.

For City Oilers, Tony Drileba who got injured earlier after getting the first four points on the day thus pushing the fans sights onto Okello who usually turns up as it has been in the previous nights was so mute in the game.

But like any champion, it was a Christopher Davis who got off the bench and Ceaser Kizito to put up 35 and 12 points respectively on the night.

Therefore UCU Canons continue to look for their maiden trophy as seven time champions will now take on Namuwongo Blazers in the NBL Playoff final.

On the women’s side, Both JKL Lady Dolphins and UCU lady Canons went past KCCA Women Basketball and KIU Rangers respectively in a comfortable manner.
