Last season’s NBL playoffs finalists Namuwongo Blazzers have withdrawn from the ongoing season with only a game to spare.

The club through it’s CEO Daniel Muttu put up a communication on their official twitter account today 29/08/2023 citing a number of dissatisfactions with FUBA.

“Our management team and sponsors set out this season to achieve qualification to the 2024 BAL. With this off the table, there is nothing left to play for in relation to our investment.” – Part of the letter said.

This comes only a few days after the basketball governing body in Uganda, FUBA communicated that the winner on of this ongoing season will not represent Uganda at the next continental showpiece because registration for the participants comes before closure of the National league in Uganda.

FUBA chose 8 time champions City Oilers to represent the country at the previous BAL qualifiers.

Nam blazers lost their previous game to Rezlife saints and had one fixture left against Our saviour.

The Club only shared a copy of the same letter with FUBA as we await a response from the Federation.
