The 23-year old and former Vipers midfielder was recalled to the team by Cranes interim head coach Abdallah Mubiru to start preparations for the 2021 AFCON preparations.

“Am excited and happy to be back to the Uganda’s national football team since it is more than a year since I last featured in any national game” Moses Waiswa said after Monday’s training at St.Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Uganda plays Burkina Faso this Wednesday at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende and Waiswa says it’s like a cup final since the Cranes needs to beat the the Stallions to qualify.

“I take our game against Burkina Faso as a cup final so we need to win it here before we can travel to Malawi for our last group game”

The Cranes sit second in group B with 7 points, one behind leaders Burkina Faso with Malawi and South Sudan having 4 and 3 points respectively.

For Uganda to seal qualification to the AFCON finals, they require only two points .
