Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic ‘Micho’ has replaced Livingstone Mbabazi with Moses Basena as his assistant at Uganda Cranes

This was confirmed in a statement released by FUFA on Saturday afternoon.

” Uganda Cranes Head coach Milutin Sredojevic has named Moses Basena as replacement for Livingstone Mbabazi as assistant coach of the National Senior team.” Read a statement released by FUFA.

The reason why Mbabazi was replaced is that he opted for a coaching at newly promoted UPL side Arua Hill SC which is against the FUFA objective.

Basena who replaced him has been the head coach at Rwandese Sunrise FC until the end of last season.

He was also Micho’s assistant during his first reign as Uganda Cranes head coach and was with Micho also at SC Villa.

After Micho left for Orlando Pirates in 2017, Basena took over on interim basis.

Basena’s appointment comes at a time when Uganda will be heading to Jordan for a training camp in preparation for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.
