Kitara FC boosted their Uganda Premier League title hopes with a commanding 4–0 victory over rivals Buhimba United Saints FC in the first league match played at Hoima City Stadium on Friday.

Striker George Ssenkaaba set the tone early, scoring twice inside the opening 13 minutes to put Kitara firmly in control of the Bunyoro derby.

Living Kabon, on loan from URA FC, added two more goals before halftime, including a well-taken free kick, as Kitara delivered a ruthless first-half performance.

The victory moves Kitara to within one point of league leaders Vipers SC, who sit on 47 points and play Calvary FC on Saturday.

Buhimba remain 13th on the table with 15 points.

The league now pauses for the Stanbic Uganda Cup, with Kitara set to return to league action away to Vipers in Kitende on April 10 in a match that could prove crucial in the title race.
