Kiboga Young piles more pressure on Katwe United as MYDA blasts Paidha


Kiboga Young FC piled more pressure on Allan Kabonge’s Katwe United on when the Tulibanyiivu were beaten 1-0 in front of their home crowd on Thursday evening.

Onform talisman Luka Okori scored the only goal of the game to beat Katwe United 1-0 at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo to condemn Katwe United to a 3rd straight loss and 4th in the six games played so far.

The win cements Kiboga Young’s second spot in the Elgon group with 11 points garnered in 6 games while the “TuliBanyiivu” side is rock bottom with 4 points off 6 games.

Newcomers MYDA are taking Big league by surprise as they continue their surge with a comfortable 2-0 win over Paidha Black Angels at Elgon View playgrounds.

Cosia Waiswa and Derrick Basoga scored in the first half for MYDA FC to seal the 3 points for the Mt. Elgon Side.

MYDA are Elgon group log leader with 15 points in 7 matches while Paidha is 5th with 7 points in 7 games.

Elsewhere in the Elgon group, Bukedea TC fought back from a goal down to edge spirited Saviours FC 3-2 at Amuria Playground in Teso region.

Center half Ivan Okello opened the scoring for Bukedea TC in the 28th minute before Halidi Moses equalised on the death of halftime for Saviours. Youngstar Okech Emmanuel put the Lira side ahead with a sublime strike before Mike Siu levelled matters for Bukedea in quick succession.

In 80th minutes, Goalkeeper Emma Opio scored from the penalty spot to grant the Teso side the much deserved 3 points.

Managerless Dove All Stars beat Light SS 1-0 courtesy of an Edema Sabir early first half goal.

In the Rwenzori group, Nyamityobora FC deafeated Water FC 2-1 at Kakyeka Stadium courtesy of David Oyedola and Dan Wagaluka goals.

At the Arena of Visions, Promotional aspirants Ndejje University and Kigezi Homeboys played out to a barren draw.

In Hoima, Kitara came from a goal behind to force a 2-2 draw with UPDF FC at Kigaya playground.

Jamil Kisitu scored the game opener for Kitara FC before 2 quick Alex Kitaka goals pushed the army side ahead in the second half. George Ssenkaba leveled the matters later on in the game for Kitara FC.

Bottom placed Doves FC played out to a 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Kasai Plascon

UPDF tops the Rwenzori group with 14 points in 7 games.
