KCCA FC will look to maintain their push for the Uganda Premier League title when they visit Lugazi FC at Lugazi FC Stadium this Saturday.
The Cityzens head into the fixture in high spirits after a commanding 3–0 victory over Express FC earlier this week. KCCA currently sit third on the table with 42 points from 20 matches, just a few points behind the league leaders as the title race tightens.
Hosts Lugazi are fighting at the opposite end of the table. They sit 12th with 18 points from 20 games and have struggled for form, registering one win in their last six league matches while scoring only two goals and conceding eight. They have also gone three matches without a win or a goal.
KCCA co-head coach Jackson Magera Kaddu says the team must maintain the intensity shown in their last outing.
“Lugazi is a different side when playing at home, but our focus is on maintaining the intensity we showed against Express. We are in the business end of the season, and we cannot afford to drop points if we are to continue the hunt for top honours.”
In the last three meetings between the sides, KCCA have won once while two matches ended in draws, with the Cityzens scoring six goals compared to Lugazi’s one.
