Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA FC) has been given a bye into the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup and will face the aggregate winner between Botswana’s Orapa United and Rwanda’s As Kigali at the second round of the Preliminaries.
The development was confirmed during the draws for the premiliary round and last 32 of the CAF Confederation Cup on Monday evening in Cairo, Egypt.
The Kasasiro Boys were handed a bye, not to feature in the first preliminary round of the competition given as a result of their performances in recent CAF tournaments in the past five years.
The Lugogo based side has during the period qualified for the group stages of both the CAF Confederation Cup and Champions league in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
KCCA FC will be targeting to reach the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup once again, having achieved the same feat in 2017.
The Kasasiro Boys finished third in group A on nine points, three behind Club Africain and same with FUS Rabat, though Moroccan club had a superior goal difference.
