KCCA FC have completed the return of striker Charles Lwanga, with the forward rejoining the Lugogo-based club as a free agent ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.
Lwanga returns to KCCA following the expiry of his contract at SC Villa, bringing an end to a three-year stay with the Jogoos after leaving the Kasasiro Boys in 2023.
The striker previously featured for KCCA between 2020 and 2023 after joining from Express FC. During his first spell at Lugogo, he scored 17 goals across three seasons, with his best return coming in the 2020/21 campaign when he found the back of the net 11 times.
At SC Villa, Lwanga enjoyed another productive spell, scoring 11 league goals during the 2024/25 season. However, his playing time was reduced last season following the arrival of head coach Zeljko Kovacevic. Despite making just 11 Uganda Premier League appearances, he still managed to score six league goals before his contract expired.
Lwanga becomes KCCA’s second signing of the current transfer window after the arrival of Elvis Ngonde, who also joined from SC Villa.
The Kasasiro Boys have also appointed Brian Ssenyondo as head coach ahead of the new campaign and recently handed versatile defender Hassan Muhamud a one-year contract extension as they continue to reshape the squad for the 2026/27 season.
